Family Sues Aarons for $1.5 million Over BedBugs

This family had received a bed from Aarons and they claimed bedbugs would soon take over. The Teel-Hainey family would end up throwing all out all of their clothes and furniture.

Andre Teel said their dream home has turned into a nightmare. “Every so often I’ll come up and spray,” he said.

He showed WTEV where bedbugs have infested his children’s room and he said Aaron’s is responsible. According to this agreement, the couple rented “preleased” beds from Aaron’s in December.

Aarons removed plastics and tried to stop what had already started, but it was too late due to the lack of proper pest control in their storages.

Jones said the only remedy is too expensive for this family, so this month they filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against Aaron’s.

WTEV went to the store, but we were told they can’t comment on pending litigation. A spokesperson said “every customer concern is taken seriously.”

“I don’t want any other family to go through this,” Teel said. 

The couple also put their wedding on hold. They were planning to hold it in the backyard, but they don’t want to bring guests into their home in its current state. -KRMG (Local News)
